General rules that apply to all images used on Frozen Fanon Wiki.
File extensions Edit
There are several file extensions that can be uploaded, with the most common being .JPG and .PNG. Due to its lossless data compression, .PNG files are generally preferable.
Animated .GIFs are disallowed due to their lack of purpose and distractive quality. If a still image is insufficient to illustrate the text it accompanies, then one should consider rewriting the text to better convey the intended message.
Every non-free image is used on Frozen Fanon Wiki under the auspices of the fair use doctrine of the United States Fair use law. This means that they are used for informational/educational purposes, meant to identify the subject of an article and to illustrate something directly relevant to the text in its immediate vicinity.
All images must be sourced. If you drew it yourself, you need to state in the description that it was created by you. If it came from a screenshot of another television show or film, you need to accredit it by giving the name of the show or film (and, if applicable, episode number).
Image editing Edit
- Non-free images must remain unaltered. Changing colors, adding watermarks, text, or making montages that corrupt the copyright owners' original work is considered to be an infringement, thus the image will be deleted.
- Non-free in this instance is any image that you did not create yourself.
- The image should be of the highest quality available. Screen-captures from digital episodes, Blu-ray, and DVDs are preferred, with television recordings and other formats being secondary. In the case of duplicate images, the highest quality image is kept.
Galleries are not permitted on the wiki. The idea is for text and the story to be the focus. The only exception is a fan-comic, however they still need to include text describing what is being shown on the images.
